北海道大学中央食堂は、1977年に誇らしげに開館し、活気あるキャンパスコミュニティに広々とした明るくモダンな食の拠点を提供するという長年の要望を実現しました。

理学部のすぐ隣に、延床面積1,209 m²の二階建て鉄筋コンクリート造として丁寧に建設され、1億5,400万円の価値ある投資がなされました。建設は1976年7月13日に始まり、1977年3月22日に完成を祝いしました。

1977年5月9日に開館し、1階には革新的なアメリカ式カフェテリア（240席）、2階にはセルフサービスのグリル・麺コーナー、ウェイトレスがサービスする喫茶店を備え、合計442名の収容能力を誇り、以前の混雑を大幅に解消しました。

The Central Cafeteria at Hokkaido University proudly opened in 1977, fulfilling long-awaited demands for a spacious, bright, and modern dining hub to serve the vibrant campus community at its heart.

Thoughtfully built as a two-story reinforced concrete gem spanning 1,209 m² with a worthwhile investment of 154 million yen right next to the Faculty of Science, construction swiftly progressed from July 13, 1976, to a celebratory completion on March 22, 1977.

It opened on May 9, 1977, featuring innovative American-style cafeteria service on the first floor (240 seats), self-service grills and noodle corners on the second floor, a waitress-served coffee shop, and a total capacity of 442 diners, significantly alleviating previous congestion.
