Hokkaido University marked the 150th anniversary of its founding on August 14, 2026.

To commemorate this milestone, the University will hold the Hokkaido University 150th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony on Saturday, September 26. The event will look back on the University’s history while also presenting its new challenges and vision for the next 150 years.

The ceremony will bring together members of the Hokkaido University community, as well as representatives of universities and research institutions in Japan and abroad, government organizations, industry, alumni, and many others, to celebrate this historic milestone together.
